When importing metrics for Performance Max campaigns into Google Sheets using dimensions, it works fine with campaign names. However, an error occurs when setting it to asset group names. Is there a way to resolve this issue?

I don’t think asset group data is available yet, support doc here.
Note that, according to Google, Performance Max data is only available in Campaign reports — for example, queries at the ad group or ad level won't return results.
