I noticed that there is no data about new Facebook followers (for example, like in Instagram Insights). It would be very helpful to be have the data about how many people follow my page per day etc. Is it possible to add this data?

Hi @elizaveta Thanks for the suggestion! Currently, Facebook's API doesn't provide daily new follower metrics like Instagram does, which is why this data isn't available in Supermetrics.

Workaround:
You can approximate this by:

  1. Scheduling daily exports of your total page followers (to Google Sheets/BigQuery)

  2. Calculating day-over-day differences to track net new follows

I’ll convert this into an idea in our community so our product team can track demand. If Facebook ever expands their API, we’ll be ready to support it!

For now, you can view this data directly in Facebook Insights under “Page Followers” → “Net Followers” 😎

Sorry for the delays in getting back to you from the product team.

There’s been a lot of changes on the Meta side announced that changes the feasibility of this ask, namely that they plan to retire page fans and page followers completely in November, and replace it with Views. More information about the changes they are making can be found here.

We will be working to add Views to the Facebook Insights data source as soon as possible so folks can start to be prepared for the removal of page fans/page followers. I know this isn’t an exact replacement for what you were asking about, but wanted to be clear about what’s happening and that we won’t be handling this request as the fields are going away.

There will be more information coming soon about the retirement plans on our side. Please keep an eye out those emails so you take necessary action to update your reporting and queries.

Thank you,
Jessica
