We love looking at ad-level performance of LinkedIn Ads--particularly being able to review messaging. We use “creativeTitle” and “creativeText” fields as dimensions, as well as “creativeDscName” to reflect the name of the ad variation and “creativeType” to reflect the ad format type. We don’t have any issues with the classic image or video ads, nor issues with these ad types that also employ Lead Gen Forms. However, if using the Document Ad type, which will often include a Lead Gen Form, no values return for these fields. The setup within the ads UI is very similar (screenshot attached). A value is entered for the “creativeDscName”, and values are entered for “creativeTitle” and “creativeText”. Is it possible to support these fields for the Document Ads type?

Thank you for the request!

We will be investigating this during Q3 to see what is possible. Please note that the LinkedIn Ads API has different field sets for different kinds of ads and not all types support all dimensions, so we may not be able to support everything for document ads due to that limitation. But we figure out what we are missing and work to add that during the summer.

Thank you,

Jessica

We have now released an update to better support Document Ads and show their details in many of the existing creative dimensions!

We also added a new special dimension just for getting the document - Creative download URL.

This is currently live for Google Sheets, Looker Studio and Excel. Support for Data warehouse, API, and Power BI destinations should come early next week.

Thank you,
Jessica
