Are you tired of jumping between different platforms just to check a quick metric? Do you wish you could validate campaign performance without building a full dashboard? Well, actually, you can!

The Data explorer on the Supermetrics Hub is your secret weapon for fast, ad-hoc data analysis. It lets you slice and dice your marketing data right in the Hub, saving you time and helping you answer those urgent questions instantly.

Many ways Data explorer solves your daily data struggles

The core purpose of Data explorer is to help you move quickly. Here are some common struggles we hear from data-driven marketers and how Data explorer can help you overcome them.

"I need to check a key metric right now!"

You're in a meeting and someone asks, "How did that Facebook ad campaign perform yesterday?" You don't want to dig through a spreadsheet or wait for a scheduled report.

The practical solution: Use Data explorer for fast checks.

  1. In Data explorer, select your Facebook Ads data source.
  2. Set the date range to Yesterday, and pull in metrics like Cost, Conversions, and Return on ad spend (ROAS) %.
  3. You get an instant, current view. You can save this simple query to run it again anytime.

"Was that recent site change good or bad?"

After deploying a new landing page or changing a key ad copy, you need to quickly validate the impact. Creating a new report for a one-off check feels like overkill.

The practical solution: Validate impact with comparisons.

  1. In Data explorer, select your relevant data source (like Google Analytics 4 or Google Ads).
  2. Use the Date range feature to set a Custom date range for your 'post-change' period.
  3. Next, use the Compare to dates option to look at the 'pre-change' period (such as the previous period or previous year).
  4. This instantly highlights the difference in key metrics like conversion rate or cost per click (CPC), allowing you to quickly spot positive or negative changes.

"I keep rebuilding the same weekly performance check."

You, like many performance marketers, need a weekly "CTR by campaign" view for Facebook Ads. The old way meant rebuilding the source, account, metrics, and dates every single time.

The practical solution: Use Data explorer to turn that one-off check into a reliable, repeatable query!

  1. Build your query with your main metric (CTR) and dimension (Campaign name).
  2. Click Save and give your query a clear name, such as "Weekly Facebook Ads CTR Check".
  3. Set the date range to the desired period, for example last week, which will always give result for the previous week, without the need to change the date range every week.
  4. Run your query for this week's results.
  5. Next week, simply open the saved query from your new query listing and click Run again! You save valuable time by skipping the tedious setup.

"I need to compare performance across different ad platforms"

You have a successful campaign structure on Facebook Ads and want to launch a parallel campaign on Google Ads. You need an easy way to compare their metrics without rebuilding the query from scratch.

The practical solution: Duplicate a saved query to branch your work. You can use an existing saved query as a template! This ensures consistency and makes it easy to compare results.

  1. In the Data Explorer listing, find your successful Facebook Ads query.
  2. Select Duplicate to create an exact copy of the query (it will be appended with "-copy").
  3. Open the copy, rename it, switch the data source to Google Ads, and select the appropriate account.
  4. Save the new query. You now have two separate, perfectly aligned queries to track and compare campaign performance over time!
