We have just recently subscribed and setup our GA4. Under the Campaign Performance tab, we are not able to see conversions. Maybe because it is now called events? We are not technical people and have little to zero background on GA4 and Looker.
Hi
Welcome to the Community and to Supermetrics! We’re excited you’re diving into GA4 and Looker Studio.
You’ve identified a key difference in GA4: what were called "conversions" in Universal Analytics are now a special type of "event." Here’s how to navigate this:
Why conversions work differently in GA4
In GA4:
-
All user actions (page views, clicks, purchases) are recorded as events
-
You manually designate which events are conversions (e.g., purchases, sign-ups) in your GA4 settings
How to access conversions in Looker Studio
Locate your conversions in GA4:
-
Go to Admin (
) > Conversions
-
Note the exact event names (e.g.,
purchase
,generate_lead
)
In Looker Studio with Supermetrics:
-
Option 1: Use the built-in "Conversions" metric (auto-aggregates all GA4-marked conversions)
-
Option 2: Use "Event count" + filter for specific conversions (e.g.,
Event name = purchase
)

Additional tips!
Supermetrics’ GA4 templates often include pre-configured conversion tracking, these can save hours of setup!
Don’t hesitate to ask if you hit snags. GA4’s learning curve is steep but worth it!
